Why we exist

These aren't statistics. They're our mothers, sisters, and brothers.

Black maternal mortality
0×

Black women in America are three times more likely to die from a pregnancy-related cause than white women.

The rate climbed to 49.5 deaths per 100,000 live births, and most of these deaths are preventable. Black women are dismissed, under-treated for pain, and discharged with symptoms ignored.

Black prostate cancer
0×

Black men are twice as likely to die from prostate cancer than any other group in the U.S.

Black men are 70% more likely to be diagnosed, and face it earlier, more aggressively, and with later detection, even when income and access are equal.

Black Healthcare Advocate exists to change these numbers by putting the tools, the language, and the community to advocate for yourself in your pocket.

A pocket advocate for the moments that matter most.

Our story

Not built for the Black Community, built from within it.

Black Healthcare Advocate was born from a lived experience, mine. From sitting in exam rooms where I felt unheard, ignored, questions went unasked, and complex medical information left me with more questions than answers.

So I began building the advocate I wish I had beside me throughout my prostate cancer journey, an advocate that helps you prepare for appointments, explains your results in plain language, keeps track of your healthcare journey, and connects you with people who understand what you're going through.

"Every appointment should end with clarity, not more confusion."
